Description
I have the same problem to ticket #206 - mondo rescue fails.
when i boot with DVD disk 1 (of 2) of the backup. I am presented with the screen with the selections for restore/compare etc. I select 'compare', and then after various checks, i get the 'Can't access tty; job control turned off' error message and get the terminal.
There are some sugestions that this may be due presence of SATA hard drives. I am using a notebook computer

gonno install the latest mindi-busybox and mindi as you suggest and will let you know the result. I take it /var/log/mondorestore.log is only created upon 'restore' not in 'compare' mode?

I dowloaded the mindi-busybox 1.7.3 as suggested. make defconfig seems OK. the file defconfig.txt is the output.
But make install gives errors and exits. the errors are shown on install.txt file attached.

The CD-ROM wasn't found on your system at restore time.
I suggest that you use the latest packages available from ftp://ftp.mondorescue.org/test in order to check whether this is now fixed or not.

Final version 2.2.9.6 is available now. Test and report again please. If you run the mondoarchive command with a CD mounted, all driver should be included. You can then communicate to the devel ML the name of the modules missing.
Reopen if not fixed.
Could you use the latest version of mindi-busybox (1.7.3) and mindi (2.0.7.5) from ftp://ftp.mondorescue.org please first ?
if restore still fails also provides the /var/log/mondorestore.log file as well.
