#596 closed defect (fixed)

mondorescue doesn't handle correctly MD dvices with UUIDs

Reported by: Bruno Cornec Owned by: Bruno Cornec
Priority: highest Milestone: 3.0.2
Component: mondo Version: 3.0.1

Description

when restoring the md device a new UUID is created, and thus at reboot time, the old UUID values (used in /etc/mdadm.conf, /boot/grub/menu.lst and the initrd) are looked for and not found leading to a kernel panic as LVs cannot be mounted.

Resolution: fixed

rev [2988] adds the mechanics to handle the uuid backup and restore, solves the crash issue, and metadata are now restored as they were originally with rev [2991]. Will be in 3.0.2.
