computer stops responding completely when eject command sent to dvd

while running mondo -FOLVr /dev/sr1 the computer stops responding when eject is sent just after writing dvd.

mondo log entries stop there and No entries in /var/log/messages to help. 2.5gb is what is in mondo.scratch that was written to disk.

This does not occur on small size backups. Also it did not occur when run to a external usb dvd.

Forgot to say when eject is issued door does open. Then computer stops responding completely.

Also forgot to report all drives are SATA

Resolution: → fixed
Status: new → closed

seems to be fixed by a new dvd.
