Description
I think the Mondo scripts are probably good by I had to stop using Mondo as a candidate for a professional backup solution. This was due to unclear and messy GUI interface. Many messages were ambiguous and although I found some of them humorous I felt that in the context of backup/restore of valuable data they were inappropriate and I lost confidence in Mondo because of them. The Mondo live CD has a bare minimum of tools and no GUI window manager. There are also not enough safeties against possible destruction of data due to misunderstanding the Mondo process (which is really unclear at some points). I installed via official repository for Debian. If any of this is due Mondo not functioning fully on my system then I'll be glad to file further bug reports.
As not being a native english speaker, I'd welcome patches to improve MondoRescue messages.
People doing DR on Linux tend to like the fact that MondoRescue uses a simple GUI, not loading too many layers and have a complete open format allowing for manual operation of the tool doesn't work as expected.
Finally, this is aimed at experienced sysadmin performing tests bfore putting into production a DR solution.
Debian has no upstream maintainer anymore, so feel free to apply so we can work on improving stuff for both upstream and Debian. My Debian repo are available at ftp://ftp.mondorescue:org/debian
