Description
Background
I have been trying to get Mondo working with a backup to a NFS server. In my case, the NFS server is set up to prohibit root access from remote machines. This is desirable from a backup perspective as I can create an "archive" user which is the only one capable of accessing the NFS mount and hence can't accidentally be deleted by root on another machine. Problem is that Mondo runs as root and hence can't write to the share! I can't find a solution to this in the documentation, WiKi or forums. Please let me know if this is a FAQ. I tried using the -A option to do a manual copy of the _ISO_ files to the share using 'sudu -u archive', but mondoarchive would not let me past the test for the existence and writability of the NFS share!
Feature suggestion
A useful addition to Mondo would be the creation of a command line switch to allow specification of the backup user for writing to NFS shares.
Should be fixed in rev [2224] & [2225]. Will be in 2.2.9. Please test then.
