I use mondo without self-booting backup, just simple data backup.
Here the comme i use : 

mondoarchive -OVt -I /mnt/data/test -d /dev/st0 -W -e

Backup seams ok.

But when i try te restore them, mondorestore doesn't restore all the data, and at the end remount the root partition in read only, don't know why ...
